39. How to deal with Karens: Navigating Negative Opinions

Today I talk about navigating negative opinions. It may not be the best way but it’s how I deal.

First off, I talk about how my sister recently was dealing with some very negative opinions and it spawned the idea for today’s topic. This podcast, starting off, if I had listened to people and their negative opinions, I probably wouldn’t have done it. I actually did for a little while, which is why it took a while to get it started. But you can’t compare yourself when you are first starting out to someone that has been in it for years. And that’s exactly what I was doing.

Mothers. Yeah, some mothers are super opinionated. Mine is for sure. My mother had mentioned something about me not working in my business anymore because it didn’t seem worth the trouble. She just sees the struggles and the arguments and the frustration. She really has no clue what I want because she’s never taken the time to ask. She’s also never owned a business. She has just worked for other people.

Another example – you want to be a runner. You want to do a marathon. And your mother-in-law, your mother or whoever, who has never run a day in their lives, tells you running is bad for your knees. If someone has been running their whole lives and tries to give you tips and trick, listen to them.

Tonight I try something different from my corner market, High Noon SunSips- Mango flavor.

Also, listen for some tips on how to deal with opinions.
